The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Founded by Father Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1882, it was named in honor of the mariner Christopher Columbus. Originally serving as a mutual benet society to low-income immigrant Catholics, it developed into a fraternal benet society dedicated to providing charitable services, promoting Catholic education and actively defending Roman Catholicism in various nations.

Council 4462, is headquartered in Steamboat Springs, CO at Holy Name Catholic Church. The Knights are parishioners of the church, and provide services for the church and its patrons. Every year the Knight of Columbus cater events such as Saint Patrick’s Day Dinner, Winter Carnival Pancake Breakfast and summer barbecue events.
